Find out if the seller has a return policy:
Most eBay sellers that are legitimate should really offer a returns policy in case the buyer is not happy with the purchase. You really need to find out if the seller is happy to offer some form of returns policy. Most normal stores have to offer a returns policy by law, however eBay doesn't carry this same policy for its sellers.

Check the phone for damage:
When you finally receive your used phone you should check for any damage that wasn't listed on the auction, water damage is a hidden killer of phones, they end up in trouser pockets that go through washing machines. You can't tell if the phone has been through the wash until you try and turn it on. Also check the phone for dents and scratches, another common problem of these phones.
